Aggrieved customers of the defunct Menzgold company have appealed to the government for a GHC 200 million loan to recover their locked-up investments before the December 7 general elections.
Speaking on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM’s Frontline, a representative lamented the hardship and deaths caused by the unresolved issue, noting that over 230 victims have died since 2020.
The requested amount, he explained, is a loan to be repaid after the auctioning of the company’s assets.
The group criticized the earlier GHC 2.5 million payment by Nana Appiah Mensah, calling it insufficient.
They warned of taking a decisive electoral stance if their plea is ignored by December 1, stressing that leadership inaction has dire consequences.
