President John Dramani Mahama faces criticism from Kusasi youth. They are upset about the worsening security in Bawku.
The youth voted for Mr. Mahama, hoping he would resolve the conflict. They feel neglected as violence has increased since he took office three months ago.
During a press briefing, they expressed their disappointment. “We believed the NDC would save us,” they said. Kusaug supported the NDC and gave zero votes to the NPP.
They reminded the President of his acknowledgment of Naana Asigri Azorka II as chief. “What has changed?” they asked, frustrated by the lack of progress on Bawku issues.
The group reported over 18 deaths since Mr. Mahama became President. “Are you aware of these lives lost?” they questioned him directly.
They accused him of exploiting the conflict for political gain. “Politicians deceive us with empty promises just to win votes,” they stated.
Looking ahead to elections, they warned of potential voter apathy. “Expect empty ballot boxes in 2028 if nothing changes,” they concluded.
