Pepsodent, Ghana’s leading oral care brand, celebrated World Oral Health Day (WOHD) 2025 today. The event took place at the Ridge Church School. It reaffirmed Pepsodent's commitment to improving oral health in Ghana.
The celebration was a collaboration with several organizations. These included the Ghana Dental Association (GDA), the Ministry of Health, and Goldfields Ghana. The event aimed to bridge the gap between dentists and patients while promoting good oral hygiene.
This year’s theme was “Everyone Can #TalkToADentist.” It highlighted the importance of accessible dental care for overall well-being. Activities included oral health education sessions, dental screenings, and a performance by dance icon Afronita.
Chris Wulff-Caesar, CEO of Unilever Ghana, spoke about Pepsodent’s mission. He stated that access to dental care is a fundamental right. He emphasized their commitment to helping all Ghanaians improve their oral health.
Vera Boadu, Unilever's Marketing Manager for Oral Care Africa, expressed pride in their impact during the “Month of Smiles.” She noted how rewarding it is to see smiles from those receiving dental care and education.
Pepsodent also promoted its Teledentistry service at the event. This service offers free dental consultations via WhatsApp and a toll-free number (0800 161 000). It aims to remove barriers like distance and cost for accessing dental care.
Through Teledentistry, Ghanaians can connect with qualified dental professionals from home. They can receive advice and preliminary diagnoses easily.
In partnership with the GPRTU, Pepsodent sponsored “Smile Rides” in Accra. Selected buses offered commuters free rides along with Pepsodent products and oral health education.
The WOHD celebration marked the end of Pepsodent’s “Month of Smiles.” This initiative focused on promoting oral health awareness across all 16 regions of Ghana. Key activities included free dental screenings at schools and public areas in collaboration with the GDA.
Pepsodent is dedicated to ensuring every Ghanaian has access to quality dental care. The brand will continue working with partners like the GDA and Ministry of Health to expand its reach.
The event featured distinguished guests from various sectors. Attendees included representatives from the Ministry of Health and the Deputy Minister of Education.
