On March 20, 2025, the Perfect Smile Foundation celebrated World Oral Health Day. They visited the Kyebi School for the Deaf to provide essential oral health services. This Non-Governmental Organization offered care and education to students and staff.
A team of dedicated volunteers led the outreach program. They provided free dental screenings, treatments, and hygiene education. The goal was to improve health and build confidence through healthy smiles.
Mrs. Augustina Ephraim, founder of the Perfect Smile Foundation, spoke about oral hygiene. She said, “Our teeth are central to how we express ourselves.” She emphasized that smiling connects us with others. She urged everyone to brush their teeth seriously, both morning and evening.
Mrs. Ephraim encouraged support for children with hearing impairments. “They are our brothers and sisters,” she stated. Just because they cannot hear doesn’t mean they should be excluded. She called on people to show love and celebrate with them.
She also asked the public to visit the school and consider donations for student needs. During this visit, the Headmaster raised concerns about the school's infrastructure. He mentioned that the boys' dormitory is broken down and washroom facilities are in poor condition.
He expressed worry over irregular student attendance as well. Many students miss entire academic terms before returning to school. “This is a major challenge,” he said, noting his efforts to engage parents on this issue.
The Perfect Smile Foundation's outreach made a lasting impact beyond dental care. It highlighted compassion and advocacy for the school's pressing needs while calling for community involvement.
