Former Railways Development Minister, John Peter Amewu, has reportedly been detained by National Security over the controversial $2 million Sky Train project.
The project, which was meant to introduce a modern urban rail system in Ghana, failed to materialize despite financial commitments made by the previous Akufo-Addo administration. As the minister overseeing the railway sector at the time, Amewu is now under scrutiny for his role in the deal.
His arrest comes amid ongoing investigations into the failed initiative, raising concerns about accountability in government contracts and infrastructure projects.
National Security officials have yet to disclose any specific charges against Amewu. Further updates will follow as investigations progress.
