Petroleum Hub to employ 700k Ghanaians

Dr. Tony Aubynn met with Joseph Nelson, the Western Regional Minister.

Nelson pledged his full support for the Petroleum Hub in Jomoro district.

This meeting took place at the Western Regional Coordinating Council in Sekondi.

Dr. Aubynn was accompanied by Kobby Onasis Rosely and other PHDC executives.

The visit aimed to introduce PHDC leadership and reaffirm government commitment.

Dr. Aubynn discussed the hub's transformative impact on energy accessibility in Ghana.

He emphasized its potential to improve reliability and affordability across West Africa.

Once operational, the hub could create about 700,000 jobs directly and indirectly.

"This hub will employ more people than any single entity in Ghana," Dr. Aubynn said.

He noted that it would position Jomoro as the "Rotterdam of Ghana."

This development would significantly contribute to the country’s GDP.

To prepare for the project, Dr. Aubynn announced a training program for youth.

The program aims to equip them with essential skills for job opportunities.

Joseph Nelson congratulated Dr. Aubynn on his appointment during their meeting.

He recognized Dr. Aubynn's extensive experience in public and private sectors.

Nelson assured him of full support from the Western Regional Coordinating Council.

He described the project as a game-changer for industrialization and economic transformation.

"I am extremely excited about having a petroleum hub here," Nelson stated.

Earlier, Dr. Aubynn visited the Western Regional House of Chiefs in Sekondi.

Traditional leaders expressed strong support for the Hub’s development there too.

They called for fair compensation for affected communities during this process.

With government backing and traditional leadership endorsement, progress continues steadily.

The Petroleum Hub Project is set to become a key pillar in Ghana’s energy sector and economy.
