Photos from Accra's latest decongestion exercise

The Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) and the Korle Klottey Municipal Assembly started a decongestion exercise on May 20. This effort aims to restore order and improve sanitation in Accra.

The exercise took place in Accra's Central Business District (CBD). Pedestrians, motorists, and some traders welcomed the operation. It focused on areas near the AMA head office. Key locations included Kinbu Road, ECG Junction, and Opera Square.

Madam Mercy Afrowa Needjan leads the Greater Accra Markets Association. She stressed the need for enforcement against street trading in the CBD.
