JoyNews, in partnership with the German Embassy, hosted Climate Talks on May 15. The event took place in James Town.
It gathered stakeholders, innovators, and community members. They discussed clean energy alternatives and sustainable cooking solutions for Ghana.
Over 70% of households in urban areas rely on charcoal and firewood. This reliance increases health risks and environmental damage.
Household air pollution causes about 16,000 premature deaths each year. Of these, 8,500 occur in urban areas and 7,600 in rural communities.
The dialogue aimed to promote cleaner technologies. These solutions could reduce health risks and encourage eco-friendly living nationwide.
