President John Dramani Mahama launched the Black Star Experience on May 1. This initiative aims to make Ghana Africa’s top destination for arts and entertainment.
The Black Star Experience is part of the President’s 120-Day Social Contract with Ghanaians. It fulfills a campaign promise to enhance Ghana’s tourism by showcasing its cultural assets.
This program will celebrate various disciplines year-round. These include music, film, fashion, cuisine, literature, architecture, and diaspora engagement.
Key highlights include Pan-African Month, Ghana Film Festival and Awards Month, and Culinary Month. Other events are Architecture and Design Month, Fashion and Textiles Month, and Literacy Month.
President Mahama stated that this initiative will boost Ghana’s creative economy. It will also provide a global platform for Ghanaian talent and traditions.
