Piwak Natural Health urges Akosombo victims to rebuild with new donation

Piwak Natural Health produces the 3P Garlic Mixture. The company emphasizes the need for Akosombo Dam spillage victims to rebuild their communities. Dr. Prince Nelson Mortoti, CEO of Piwak, states that recovery depends on the affected individuals' efforts.

In October 2023, Piwak donated GH₵400,000 and relief items to impacted communities. This support aims to help victims regain economic and social stability.

On April 24, 2025, Piwak met with Aveyime's chiefs and residents. They donated GH₵210,000 in the second phase of their aid program. The theme was “Rebuilding Together, Restoring Hope.”

During the ceremony, Dr. Mortoti emphasized action over sympathy. He announced that this donation is part of an ongoing support program. They will provide GH₵1,000 in direct aid to 200 affected individuals.

Dr. Mortoti acknowledged that suffering cannot be fully compensated but can be alleviated. He stressed that support should restore both life and dignity. He called this effort a shared responsibility among leaders and citizens.

He expressed hope for recovery and urged unity among victims. He stated that while floods displaced homes, they did not destroy humanity or spirit. Unity is essential for community recovery; everyone must work together.

In October 2023, over 200 communities in Volta and Eastern Regions were submerged due to the Akosombo Dam spillage. This led to significant destruction of lives and property.

Affected areas include North Tongu, Central Tongu, South Tongu, Anlo in Volta Region, Asuogyaman District in Eastern Region, and Ada in Greater Accra Region. Many riverbank communities were inundated; Mepe was particularly hard hit.
