Emmanuella Sarfowaah has withdrawn her lawsuit challenging the appointment of Anthony Kwasi Sarpong as Acting Commissioner-General of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA).
Sarpong took over after Julie Essiam’s resignation on January 20, 2025. A notice filed by her legal team confirmed the discontinuation of the case against the Attorney General, GRA, and Sarpong.
Sarfowaah had contested the legality of his appointment, arguing that it lacked proper oversight due to the absence of a Governing Council at the time.
She also raised concerns over a possible conflict of interest, citing Sarpong’s ongoing affiliation with KPMG. However, with her case now withdrawn, Sarpong’s appointment remains unchallenged.
