Dag Heward-Mills is the Founder and General Overseer of Lighthouse Chapel International. He recently criticized musicians who demand payment for their services in church.
In a video on social media, he spoke against this trend. He believes true worship should not have a price tag.
He warned, “Watch out for people who do things for money.” He mentioned that he does not pay musicians in his church. “I play all the instruments myself,” he added.
Heward-Mills shared how he addressed this issue by training youth in his church. He established a music school for children to learn instruments. “Now, all the children in my church can play the piano,” he said.
He emphasized that serving in church should come from love for God, not money.
“Nobody can bully us in church by asking to be paid before singing,” he stated. “It’s nonsense. Here, we don’t pay because you love Jesus. If not, go.”
