Join host Samson Lardy Anyenini on JoyNews' Newsfile. The show offers an in-depth analysis of Ghana's governance and political issues.
The panel discussed the Ghana Bar Association's (GBA) call. They want President John Mahama to revoke Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo's suspension.
The GBA argues that President Mahama acted without proper authority. He is not a judge or judicial officer. They say he lacked a published Constitutional Instrument, as required by Article 296 of the 1992 Constitution.
Without these rules, they claim the suspension is unlawful.
The show will also cover the NPP's 'Thank You' tour. This tour is led by former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. It faces criticism over its timing and possible political motives.
Former Chief of Staff Kwadwo Mpiani criticized the tour earlier this week. He called for it to be suspended, saying it is ill-timed after the party’s defeat in the 2024 elections.
President John Dramani Mahama has nominated seven Justices of the Court of Appeal for Supreme Court appointments. The Judicial Council will consider these nominees before they go to Parliament for approval.
