Police Arrest Suspect with Ammunition

The Ashanti South Regional Police have arrested Yussif Mohammed, 25. He was found with 207 rounds of ammunition.

Other items in his possession included a bulletproof vest and two black jackets. He also had a crash helmet and two pairs of military trousers. Additionally, police found two smocks with talismans, one black pullover, and one green jacket. A quantity of leaves, suspected to be Indian hemp, was also discovered.

Deputy Regional Commander ACP Cephas Arthur briefed the press at the Bekwai headquarters. He explained that Yussif was on an Accra-bound bus from Kumasi when his backpack fell off the bus. The backpack contained the ammunition and other items.

Some concerned citizens alerted the police at the Asankare barrier about the backpack. They apprehended Yussif Mohammed after he claimed it as his own.

ACP Cephas Arthur stated that an investigation is underway. The suspect will soon be processed for court.

He urged the public to help fight crime by sharing information with police about criminals and criminal activities.
