An Achimota District Court has issued a bench warrant for General Constable Samuel Appiah. His Service Number is 58577. He is accused of defrauding people by false pretenses.
Appiah allegedly deceived 197 applicants in a recruitment scam last year.
The warrant was issued on May 13, 2025. It was signed by Mr. Prince Osei Owusu, the presiding judge. The warrant commands authorities to apprehend Appiah and bring him to court.
Complainant Sylvester Kofi Akudeka reported the fraud on December 5, 2024. He provided contact numbers for Appiah: 050859824 and 0240180142.
Appiah is accused of collecting GHC1.6 million from the applicants. These young men and women believed he would help them join security services.
Investigations require Appiah's presence at Lapaz Police Station for further questioning. This communication was signed by Superintendent Isaac Ocansey, District Commander of Tesano District, Accra.
Authorities currently do not know Appiah's whereabouts. They are appealing to the public for information to aid in his arrest.
