Police arrest 17 suspects in Samreboi anti-galamsey operation

The Special Police Anti-Galamsey Taskforce has made arrests in Samreboi.

Seventeen suspects were detained for illegal mining activities.

This group includes seven Chinese nationals and ten Ghanaians.

They were arrested on May 25, 2025, during ongoing operations.

All suspects have been taken to Accra for further investigation.

The task force is increasing efforts in affected communities.

They aim to identify more persons of interest.

Additionally, they are working to protect forest reserves.
