The Volta Regional Police Command has arrested 26 people in a drug operation. This took place at the Aflao border enclave.
According to DSP Felix Danku, the Head of Public Affairs, the operation was on May 24, 2025. It aimed to combat drug activities and related crimes.
The suspects were arrested in various locations around the border area. The operation is part of a strategy to disrupt drug trafficking networks.
During the operation, police recovered several items. They found 20 wraps of suspected Indian hemp and 12 sachets of Tramadol tablets. They also seized dried leaves believed to be Indian hemp in a rubber bucket.
Additionally, police confiscated six drug-laced toffees and eight creams suspected of containing narcotics. They found 26 compressed parcels of suspected Indian hemp hidden in a fertilizer sack.
Police also seized cash amounting to GH₵30,558 and 17,500 CFA francs. All suspects are currently in custody and will face legal action.
The Police Command remains committed to fighting drug trafficking and related crimes in the region.
