The Greater Accra Regional Police Command has arrested a 30-year-old man. He is Aminu Amidu Mohammed. He was caught trading harmful drugs and possessing an unlicensed firearm. His arrest took place in Sabon Zongo, Accra.
Police acted on a tip-off from a community watchdog. An intelligence team then discovered the suspect's hideout. They found various prescription-only drugs, including Gebedol and opioids known as “Red.”
Commander DCOP Duuti Tuaruku spoke to journalists on May 26. He confirmed that the suspect has been arraigned in court. He urged the public to help fight crime.
The police announced the successful arrest of Amidu. He faces charges for possessing dangerous drugs and an unlicensed firearm. The Accra Regional Intelligence Team identified him for distributing these drugs.
