Police declare Karen Baaba Sam wanted over child custody violation

The Ghana Police Service has declared 29-year-old Karen Baaba Sam, a native of Dormaa in the Bono Region, wanted for unlawful child removal.

This follows a bench warrant issued by the Achimota District Court.

The case stems from an ongoing custody battle with the father of her four-and-a-half-year-old daughter.

Despite a family tribunal ruling in favor of the father, Ms. Sam has refused to comply.

Further, a juvenile court directed the Ghana Police Service and Immigration Service to prevent her from leaving the country with the child.

Reports indicate that Ms. Sam’s behavior raised concerns with the father, Mr. Kwabena Adjei, during their relationship. Allegations include misuse of funds and exposing the child to inappropriate behavior at a resort.

Investigations continue.
