The Eastern North Regional Police Command has arrested three suspects. They are linked to transporting 5,950 parcels of suspected Indian hemp. This occurred across the Volta Lake at Asuboni, near Kwahu Adawso.
The suspects are Abraham Agonu, Michael Akuaku, and Confidence Amenuveve. They were caught on Tuesday, May 28, 2025, while using a boat.
Preliminary investigations suggest they are part of a larger smuggling network. This network is allegedly led by a man named Felix. He is believed to have taken a separate boat toward the Akate area.
Police recovered several items from the suspects. These include a pump-action shotgun and eighty-five maxi sacks with the parcels. They also seized two outboard motors and one large engine boat.
A manhunt is now underway for Felix and other accomplices involved in this operation.
