A wave of excitement swept through the Ghana Police Service as officers celebrated the appointment of Christian Tetteh Yohuno as the new Inspector General of Police (IGP).
Following his swearing-in by President John Mahama on Friday, March 14, IGP Yohuno was welcomed at the Police Headquarters with cheers, jubilation, and even cash sprays, symbolizing officers’ approval of his leadership.
Some personnel openly criticized former IGP Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, labeling him a "tyrant" and asserting that his removal had "freed" the service.
The enthusiastic response highlights optimism about the future of the Police Service under Yohuno’s tenure, with expectations of a leadership shift in law enforcement.
