Police station torched as Ejura youth clash with officers

Chaos erupted in Ejura, Ashanti Region, as angry youth stormed the local police station, freeing suspects on remand and setting the facility ablaze. The unrest followed the announcement of the death of a detained youth accused of phone theft.

According to Assemblyman Samuel Kudjoe Kwa-Sam, the deceased had voluntarily reported to the police, promising to assist with the investigation the following day but was detained and later died in custody.

The agitated crowd overpowered police officers, vandalized property, and torched the station in response to the incident.
