Captain (Rtd) Prince Kofi Amoabeng, former CEO of UT Bank, believes the bank's closure was politically motivated.
Speaking on Joy News’ PM Express, he revealed his close ties to key government figures, including Ken Ofori-Atta and President Akufo-Addo.
Despite these connections, he suggested personal envy may have influenced the decision.
“They had the power, and maybe they thought I achieved too much,” Amoabeng remarked.
He criticized the chaotic approach to shutting down financial institutions, labeling it poorly executed. Nonetheless, he remained resilient, expressing greater concern for Ghana's well-being.
“I care about the country more than myself,” he concluded, urging better handling of such processes in the future.
