President John Mahama has shared his condolences for Pope Francis. He called the late pontiff a global symbol of compassion, humility, and justice.
In a social media message, Mahama paid tribute to the Pope’s influence. He said, “His legacy of compassion and commitment to social justice will inspire generations.”
Mahama emphasized that the Pope's leadership resonated with the poor and marginalized. He concluded with, “May his soul rest in perfect peace.”
He also expressed sympathy on behalf of his family and Ghana. This was directed towards the Roman Catholic Church and the wider Catholic community.
Mahama recalled meeting the Pope during a visit to the Vatican with his wife, Lordina. The experience left a lasting impression on them both.
