Power and Water go up, but wages don’t – Kow Essuman blasts Mahama over tariff  hike

Kow Essuman, a member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), criticized the NDC government. He spoke out against recent utility tariff hikes announced by the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC).

Essuman accused the Mahama-led administration of worsening economic hardships for Ghanaians. He called the tariff increase a betrayal of public trust. “This NDC government gives with one hand but takes away with both hands,” he wrote.

The PURC announced a 14.75% increase in electricity tariffs and a 4.02% rise in water tariffs on April
