Power supply improves in Volta Region

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has made progress in the Volta Region. They addressed recent power supply challenges affecting the area. These issues caused persistent outages and low voltage, disrupting daily life and businesses.

Eunice Tweneboa Kodua, the Volta Regional Public Relations Officer, spoke to Citi News on May 16, 2025. She outlined steps taken to stabilize power supply across the region. While major faults have been fixed, some isolated cases of low voltage remain.

Kodua explained that past power fluctuations prompted maintenance work. ECG engaged GRIDCo for support and scheduled maintenance for April 22, 2025. Since then, power supply has been relatively stable.

She urged customers to be patient as they resolve remaining issues. Residents report improvements but still face unstable low voltage in some areas. Seyram Foe-Ahorney noted recent stability in electricity supply at homes and businesses.

However, he mentioned intermittent power supply had caused damage before maintenance began. The main concern now is the ongoing low voltage issue that residents continue to discuss.
