Pres names 72 DCEs in 8 regions …pending approval by assemblies - Ghanaian Times

President John Dramani Mahama has nominated 72 people for District Chief Executive positions. This is in line with Article 243(1) and section 20(1) of the Local Governance (Amendment) Act, 2016 (Act 936).

The nominees are spread across eight regions. The breakdown includes: Volta - 18, Oti - 9, Ahafo - 6, Bono - 10, Bono East - 9, Savannah - 5, North East - 6, and Western North - 9.

These nominations need approval from the respective Assemblies. The Minister of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Ahmed Ibrahim, issued this statement in Accra yesterday.

In the Volta Region, there are nominations for several districts. These include Ho, Hohoe, Ketu South, Ketu North, Keta, Adaklu, Afadjato South, Agortime-Ziope, Akatsi North and Akatsi South. Other districts are Anlo, Central Tongu, Ho West, North Tongu, South Dayi and North Dayi. The nomination for Kpando is still pending.
