Pres pledges 6 months salary into Ghana Medical Trust Fund

President John Dramani Mahama has made a pledge. He will donate six months of his salary. This donation goes to the new Ghana Medical Trust Fund, called “Mahama Cares.”

The fund aims to help Ghanaians with chronic diseases. These include kidney failure, cancer, and heart-related issues. Such conditions put a heavy strain on patients and the healthcare system.

During the launch in Accra, the President spoke about support. He urged corporate bodies to contribute to this initiative. “This program is not just the government’s effort,” he said.

He emphasized that those helped by the fund are not only citizens. They are also clients, customers, and even staff of businesses.
