Presidency comes out with decision on Sammy Gyamfi after cash gift to Agradaa

Sammy Gyamfi Avoids Sanctions After Apology for Cash Gift

Sammy Gyamfi, CEO of the Ghana Gold Board, faced controversy recently. He gave a cash gift to Nana Agradaa, which sparked public outrage. A video of this incident went viral on social media.

Felix Kwakye Ofosu, a government spokesperson, provided updates on May 14. He stated that Gyamfi has been cautioned by the Chief of Staff. No further action will be taken against him.

Ofosu explained that Gyamfi's apology played a significant role in this decision. He noted that President Mahama's Code of Conduct allows for public apologies as remedies for breaches. The Chief of Staff acknowledged Gyamfi's apology and advised him to behave appropriately.

The video showing Gyamfi gifting dollars led to calls for action against him. After his apology, he was summoned to meet with the Chief of Staff.
