Rev. John Ntim Fordjour, the Ranking Member of Parliament's Defence and Interior Committee, has made serious accusations against the Presidency. He claims they are blocking security agencies from investigating a controversial aircraft issue.
Fordjour alleges that the Presidency is preventing state institutions from conducting independent investigations. He believes this interference suggests a possible cover-up of hidden information.
He stated, "The Presidency gagging the security agencies from doing their work... suggests there’s something they are hiding." He shared these comments during an interview on JoyNews' Newsfile on Saturday, April 5.
His remarks follow a dismissal by the Minister of State for Government Communications. The minister rejected Fordjour's claims about drug trafficking and money laundering involving two aircraft that landed in Ghana.
Felix Kwakye Ofosu called Fordjour’s allegations baseless. He accused him of spreading disinformation to undermine public confidence in the government.
Kwakye Ofosu claimed that facts contradict Fordjour’s statements. In response, Fordjour questioned the accuracy of information released by government communicators about the aircraft's origin and purpose.
He argued that some details provided were false. Fordjour emphasized that the government's handling of this matter raises more questions than answers. He called for full disclosure and transparency regarding the situation.
