President John Mahama has reaffirmed his commitment to the Ghana Military Academy (GMA). He aims to strengthen it through better infrastructure and academic improvements.
At the graduation ceremony for the 63rd Regular Course, he shared several initiatives. These initiatives focus on enhancing military training and education in Ghana.
He announced plans to upgrade the Academy’s commissioning course. It will now be equivalent to a postgraduate diploma for new officers. This change aims to improve the quality and prestige of military education.
President Mahama also highlighted the establishment of a National Defense University. This specialized institution will offer strategic programs for military personnel and civilians. He believes it will advance higher education while promoting military discipline.
These initiatives will help develop the Ghana Armed Forces. They will also contribute significantly to national development by integrating military values into education.
