President Mahama charges Sports Minister Kofi Adams to work to restore Ghana's lost glory

On February 7, 2025, President John Dramani Mahama swore in Kofi Iddie Adams as Ghana’s new Minister for Sports and Recreation, charging him with restoring the country's lost image in sports.

In his address, Mahama expressed concern over the current state of Ghana's sports sector, deeming it unacceptable.

He urged Adams to bring transparency, professionalism, and modernization to the sector, focusing on revitalizing all sports disciplines, with particular emphasis on the Ghana Football Association and the Black Stars.

Adams, during his vetting, pledged to transform sports in Ghana holistically, ensuring all disciplines receive priority in his tenure.
