President Mahama doesn’t believe in retaliatory politics – Stan Dogbe

Stan Dogbe, Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations, spoke about President John Dramani Mahama. He stated that the president does not engage in retaliatory politics. This comes as the New Patriotic Party (NPP) protested the suspension of Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo.

Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin presented petitions to various bodies. These included the Judiciary, Parliament, and the Presidency. The opposition staged a demonstration on Monday, May 5.

In response to the NPP’s request, Mr. Dogbe confirmed receipt of their petition. He assured protest leaders that he would present it to the Chief of Staff. This would ensure President Mahama receives it for consideration.

Mr. Dogbe emphasized that the government prefers addressing concerns through proper channels. He highlighted President Mahama's reputation for impartiality and unity.

“President Mahama does not believe in retaliatory politics,” he said. He is often described as a father figure who values dialogue over conflict.

The NPP-led demonstration called for reconsideration of the Chief Justice's suspension. While protestors sought quick action, Mr. Dogbe indicated that responses would be thoughtful and respect due process.
