Newly appointed Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, has revealed that President John Dramani Mahama has assured him of full support in his new role.
Adams, also the MP for Buem, was sworn in at the Jubilee House on Friday. During the ceremony, President Mahama tasked him with reviving Ghanaian sports, starting with addressing issues at the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
Speaking to the press, Adams confirmed that Mahama promised him unwavering support as he begins work. He emphasized the president’s commitment to strengthening the Sports Ministry.
Adams replaces Mustapha Ussif, who served as Sports Minister from 2021 to 2024 under the previous NPP administration. His appointment signals a renewed effort to improve the state of Ghanaian sports.
