President Mahama nominates new MMDCEs

President John Mahama has nominated new Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMCEs).

This follows Article 243(1) of the 1992 Constitution. It also aligns with Section 20(1) of the Local Governance Act, 2016 (Act 936), as amended.

On Wednesday, March 26, the presidency released a statement. It announced a total of 71 nominations across eight regions.

These nominations require approval from the respective local assemblies.
