President Mahama urges new Armed Forces Council to uphold excellence and integrity

President John Dramani Mahama addressed the newly sworn-in Armed Forces Council. He urged them to maintain high standards of discipline, integrity, and professionalism.

He emphasized the importance of inspiring confidence and trust within the military and among Ghanaians. The council has seven members, chaired by Vice President Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang. It includes the Ministers of Interior, Defence, and Foreign Affairs.

During the swearing-in ceremony at the Ministry of Defence, President Mahama highlighted that discipline and integrity are crucial for a strong military. He tasked the council with promoting ethical leadership, transparency, and accountability in the armed forces.

The President also reaffirmed his commitment to improving welfare and infrastructure for the Ghana Armed Forces. This investment aims to strengthen their capabilities and operational capacity.
