President John Dramani Mahama has given a task to the new Ghana Armed Forces Council. He wants them to focus on discipline, integrity, and ethical leadership in the military.
“The strength of any military is built on discipline and integrity,” he said. “It’s not just about weapons or army size. It’s about character, morale, and professionalism.”
President Mahama swore in the seven-member Council yesterday in Accra. They will provide strategic leadership for the Armed Forces. This is in line with Article 211 of the 1992 Constitution.
The President believes that the council's policies will guide the military effectively for years to come.
