Professor Edward Dua Agyeman has resigned as Chairman of the Audit Service Board. This news was reported by the Daily Graphic.
In a letter dated May 30, 2025, he addressed President John Dramani Mahama. Prof. Agyeman cited personal reasons for his resignation. His resignation took effect on May 31, 2025.
He expressed gratitude to the President for the opportunity to serve.
Prof. Agyeman was appointed chairman by former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in 2017. He held this position until his recent resignation.
Before this role, he served as Auditor-General of Ghana from April 2001 to May 2010. He worked under former Presidents John Agyekum Kufuor and John Evans Atta Mills.
Additionally, Prof. Agyeman was Deputy Auditor-General from July 1987 to June 1989. He is notable for being the only Auditor-General who served under all five presidents in the Fourth Republic.
