Prof Francis Otoo appointed Ag. Director-General of Nuclear Regulatory Authority

President John Mahama has appointed Prof. Francis Otoo as acting Director-General of the Nuclear Regulatory Authority (NRA).

Prof. Otoo is currently the Chief Research Scientist at the Ghana Atomic Energy Commission.

This appointment follows Article 195(1) of the 1992 Constitution and Section 15(1) of the Nuclear Regulatory Authority Act, 2015 (Act 895).

A letter signed by Callistus Mahama, Secretary to the President, announced this decision.

The appointment awaits advice from the Authority’s Governing Board and the Public Services Commission.

The letter congratulated Prof. Otoo on his new role.

It also requested him to confirm his acceptance within seven days.
