Prof. Gyampo Sets New Direction for Ghana Shippers Authority Leadership

Prof. Ransford Gyampo is the Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Shippers Authority. He has introduced measures to help the Authority adapt to current challenges. His goal is for the Authority to set a positive example as the government works to reset the country.

One key measure is a new travel policy. All staff, including the CEO, will now travel in economy class. Prof. Gyampo stated, “I am the only CEO in Ghana who travels economy class.” He recently returned from an investment conference in Abu Dhabi and joined the queue like everyone else.

He emphasized that there are financial constraints at the Authority. “There’s no money now at my place, and we must lead by example,” he said.

In a recent interview, he explained his commitment to avoiding wastefulness at the Shippers Authority. He believes it is important to change existing attitudes and practices.

“We won’t countenance a sense of entitlement that perpetuates what is wrong,” he stated in an interview with Adomonline. “We’re here to change the status quo.”
