A legal battle is unfolding at the University of Cape Coast (UCC), where an injunction has been filed against Vice Chancellor Prof. Johnson Nyarko-Boampong, challenging the extension of his term until July 2026.
John Mevemeo claims this renewal breaches constitutional and university statutes, arguing that Prof. Nyarko-Boampong should retire by September 2025.
Mevemeo insists the UCC Council failed to follow proper procedures and seeks to nullify the extension, asserting that UCC's operations will remain unaffected without the Vice Chancellor beyond July 2024.
The court will decide on these substantial claims.
