Vice President Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang has spoken publicly for the first time since receiving urgent medical care at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC).
She reportedly fell ill after work on March 28 and was taken to UGMC the following day. While the Presidency has not disclosed details of her illness, it confirmed she is stable and has been advised to seek further medical care abroad.
Her hospitalization sparked widespread concern, with political and religious figures, as well as the public, sending well wishes.
In a special Eid Mubarak message, the Vice President expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support, stating, “I would like to say thank you to everyone for the kind sentiments and well wishes this weekend.”
