Prof. Tweneboah-Koduah succeeds Prof. Bawole as Dean of UGBS

The University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) has a new Dean. Professor Ernest Yaw Tweneboah-Koduah has been appointed to this role. He succeeds Professor Justice Nyigmah Bawole, who served two terms. Bawole's leadership was marked by innovation and academic growth.

Prof. Tweneboah-Koduah is the first faculty member from the Department of Marketing and Entrepreneurship to become Dean. His appointment is seen as a significant milestone for both him and the institution. It highlights the growing importance of marketing in Ghana’s economy and academia.

He is an alumnus of UGBS, holding a BSc in Administration and an MPhil in Marketing. He earned his PhD from London Metropolitan University in the UK. With over 18 years at UGBS, he has proven himself as a scholar, administrator, and mentor.

As Head of the Department of Marketing and Entrepreneurship, he made transformative changes. He helped elevate the department’s research profile and academic relevance. Under his leadership, it became known for innovation and community engagement.

Prof. Tweneboah-Koduah has also chaired important committees at the University of Ghana. These include the Safety and Security Services Committee and the Marketing Committee. He coordinated flagship programs like MA Marketing Strategy and Executive MBA.

His reforms boosted enrollment, improved curricula, and strengthened industry ties. A prolific scholar, he specializes in social marketing and behavior change. He has published over 50 peer-reviewed articles on public policy, health promotion, non-profit marketing, and entrepreneurship.

His work appears in respected journals such as the Journal of Social Marketing. Prof. Tweneboah-Koduah is also an Elder at the Church of Pentecost in Accra. His faith influences his leadership style focused on service.

He serves on several boards including the Council of the Bible Society of Ghana. His appointment as Dean signifies a transformative moment for UGBS and Ghana as a whole. It emphasizes that marketing drives innovation, governance, and economic empowerment.
