Prof. Yayra Dzakadzie removed as NaCCA Director-General

Prof. Yayra Dzakadzie has been removed as Director-General of NaCCA.

President John Dramani Mahama made the decision on May 6, 2025.

The reasons for his dismissal have not been officially disclosed.

Prof. Dzakadzie was appointed by former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

His appointment took place on June 24, 2024, under Act 1023.

Before leading NaCCA, he held key roles in Ghana’s education sector.

He served as Deputy Director-General of the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC).

He was also the Director for Tertiary Education at the Ministry of Education.

Prof. Dzakadzie is known for his expertise in educational assessment and evaluation.

He has experience in test development and statistical analysis.

No official explanation has been given by the Ministry of Education or the President's Office regarding his removal.
