Queen Nihad Titiaka Oases Ibrahim, the winner of Ghana’s Most Beautiful 2024, led an outreach called “Eid of Hope & Unity.” This event took place at the Nsawam Female Prisons. It was supported by the Forestry Commission and other partners.
The initiative celebrated Eid-ul-Fitr and promoted social justice in climate action. It provided warmth, food, and hope to female inmates and prison officers. The event aligned with EcoGreen Oases Legacy’s mission for climate justice and human dignity.
“Climate action must be intersectional,” Queen Titiaka said. She emphasized that it should address environmental issues and socio-economic conditions. The project shows that sustainability needs compassion and community support.
The Forestry Commission highlighted its commitment to environmental sustainability and social impact. Their involvement supports youth-led climate innovations and community resilience programs.
The outreach featured a buffet of local dishes and essential item donations. These included bags of rice, boxes of tomatoes, mackerel, cooking oil, biscuits, soaps, sanitary products, drinks, paper supplies, pens, pencils, and attendance books.
Corporate sponsors like HalferPay and Vitamilk Ghana contributed generously. They share a commitment to sustainable development and social welfare.
On Instagram, Queen Titiaka reflected on the event's significance. She stated it was a moment to restore dignity and spread love among those incarcerated.
The Ghana Prisons Service appreciated the initiative as an act of kindness. They recognized it as vital for rehabilitation and human rights within prisons.
