Randy Abbey is not a relative of Akufo-Addo to be inheriting any tradition of carrying chairs around – COCOBOD PRO

Sam Jerome, the Head of Corporate Communications at COCOBOD, denied claims about CEO Dr. Randy Abbey. Allegations suggested he carried a leather chair during farm tours.

Jerome stated that Abbey is not related to Akufo-Addo. Therefore, he does not inherit any tradition of carrying chairs. Dennis Miracles Aboagye made comments on Channel One TV regarding this issue.

Aboagye claimed farmers confronted Abbey about cocoa prices. They said he promised GHC6,000 per bag but only offered GHC3,000. He also mentioned that Abbey acknowledged issues within COCOBOD.

In response, Jerome dismissed Aboagye's allegations as false. He questioned why anyone would accuse Abbey of trying to dominate farmers. Jerome invited people to speak with farmers in the six regions they visited.

He insisted they did not carry any chairs during their visits. Jerome criticized Aboagye for spreading what he called baseless claims. He emphasized the need for meaningful discussions about cocoa pricing instead of focusing on unfounded accusations.
