Ransford Abbey concludes nationwide tour of Cocoa regions with final stop in Volta Region

Dr. Ransford Abbey, CEO of the Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD), has finished his first nationwide tour. He visited all seven cocoa-producing regions in Ghana. His final stop was in the Volta Region.

In Hohoe District, Dr. Abbey met with cocoa farmer cooperatives. He also visited a young cocoa farmer's farm to understand their challenges and opportunities.

During his visit, he met Togbega Gabusu VII, the Paramount Chief of Gbi Traditional Area. He also interacted with staff at the COCOBOD Volta Regional Office.

Dr. Abbey thanked cocoa farmers for their hospitality and dedication. He believes these insights will help shape COCOBOD’s policies and strategies.

He aims to improve farmers' welfare and promote sustainable practices. The tour is expected to lead to reforms and renewed investment in the cocoa value chain. This will strengthen Ghana’s position as a global leader in cocoa production.
