Former MP and ex-National Youth Authority CEO, Abdulai Mohammed Mubarak, has filed a lawsuit against MTN Ghana for $5 million in damages, accusing the company of failing to provide roaming services during his September 2024 business trip.
Mubarak claims that despite activating roaming, he was unable to access phone, SMS, or internet services, causing significant business losses and reputational harm.
The suit seeks $1 million for breach of contract and $4 million for hardship and reputational damage.
Mubarak criticized MTN’s apology, calling it dismissive, and claims his attempts for resolution were ignored. He is demanding compensation and a court declaration of breach.
