Rashid Pelpuo: Akufo-Addo govt employed 12,000 people after December 7

Minister Rashid Pelpuo has shared important news about public sector jobs. He revealed that the previous Akufo-Addo administration hired around 12,000 people. This occurred shortly after losing the 2024 general elections.

President John Dramani Mahama has formed a committee to investigate these hires. The committee will look into claims of unfair dismissals. They will examine the timing, processes, and reasons for these appointments during the transition period.

The investigation aims to determine if proper procedures were followed. It will also assess if political motives influenced these decisions.

In an interview on Channel One TV’s The Point of View, Pelpuo said: “The President has set up a committee to investigate complaints of unfair sackings.” He is a co-chairman of this committee and emphasized their commitment to finding answers.

Pelpuo noted that the Akufo-Addo administration employed 12,000 people within one or two weeks after the election loss. He assured that results from their investigation would be available soon.

He reiterated the government's dedication to transparency and fairness in public sector employment. The findings will guide any necessary actions moving forward.
