Reappointment of STU registrar challenged at Sunyani High Court

Two individuals have challenged Samuel Ankamah Obour's reappointment as Registrar of Sunyani Technical University in the Sunyani High Court.

Dr. Stephen Okyere Boateng and Isaac Ofori Atuahene argue that Obour's reappointment, made in August 2023, is illegal because he is 57 years old and should retire by age 60.

They claim his term expired on August 31, 2023, and that his continued service violates the Technical Universities Act, 2016 (Act 922).

The plaintiffs seek to have the reappointment declared null and void and demand that Obour refund all salaries and allowances received.
